Breakingthrough...

When I first developed this photo, I threw it in with the 'bad' lot... I thought of throwing it away, except it lingered a 'je ne sais quois' in my mind.

...I decided to sort through old photos to post for today's blog, and came upon it.

With today being my birthday, I guess I began to feel a sort of need for reflection... getting older, when you're past the days of planning fun birthdays, seemed all too melancholy for me. I grew up on an island where everyday the sun was bright, the air was warm and the winds were cool. I suppose I had a bit of nostaliga when I woke this morning... but looking at this photo reminded me of how, even when the sky is as dark and threatening, as the sea is rough and angry - there is light, there is calm, which brings brightness to the sky, softness to the sea... And for me, another fresh, new and unsuspecting year.

It's like Forest Gump said...

"...life was like a box of chocolates, never know what you're gonna get."
